Brookline Bank Waltham Branch

Brookline Bank's new Waltham Branch is designed for visibility and ease of access at a busy intersection just east of historic Waltham Square. The building's Shingle Style design is inspired by local architectural landmarks of the late 19th century; its clock tower pays homage to the early industrial heritage of "Watch City." The bank's cedar shingles, brick walls, cast stone base and a one and a half story massing all provide a harmonious transition between the local commercial district and the abutting residential neighborhood. The building is entered via a covered porch at the base of the clock tower. A walk-in ATM lobby as well as a drive-through ATM and teller window at the rear driveway are integrated into the compact floor plan. The commercial bank on the ground floor includes a light-filled conference room whose vaulted ceiling opens onto the spacious banking hall, overlooked by second floor offices where commercial banking and financial services are offered. The corner lot was developed to provide a welcoming open space while allowing for ease of automobile and pedestrian circulation onto and through the landscaped site. This new addition to Main Street has been well received by the Waltham community.
